The combinations of instruments are almost limitless. A great collection for use in school and after, students will delight in performing these selections. The flexibility of these duets makes them a must have for any wind player during the Christmas season.
The intention of Compatible Christmas Duets is to provide wind instrument players the opportunity to play fifty popular Christmas carols in arrangements for two instruments. These duets will work with any combination of any two wind instruments, so you can play carols with your friends no matter what instrument they play. There are endless possibilities for using duet combinations for fun and entertainment around the holidays. You can play for family, friends or in a concert setting. Taken from our years of experience as music teachers, composers and arrangers, the Compatible Christmas Duets provide you with interesting and playable arrangements. They can also help to make practice time fun around the holidays and can be used with friends and teachers as well. One of the best ways to improve as a player is to play in small chamber groups, and duets are the easiest way to get started. Playing duets with others of similar ability levels or even of greater ability will help to stimulate the growth of your playing. We believe greatly in this approach to learning an instrument, but we also know that many of you want to just play for fun, so we are happy to add this collection of Christmas duets to the Compatible Duets series. We certainly hope that it provides you with hours of fun filled music making!
