Composers have been slow to recognise the full expressive potential of the modern value Trumpet, and there is an unsatisfied appetite amongst Trumpet players for solo music of a lyrical nature. Grieg's style is perfectly suited to adaptation for the Trumpet, and John Wallace's fine arrangement of the Lyric Pieces makes an invaluable contribution to the Trumpet repertoire.,,
