The 2008 Broadway musical <i>In the Heights</i> explores three days in the New York City Latino neighbourhood of Washington Heights. Its infectious score featuring hip-hop, salsa, merengue and soul music was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The recent movie adaptation brought the musical to a whole new generation of fans.
