In this series, physical skills are developed always with the purpose of producing immediately a musical result (tone), and a sensation or feeling associated with the sounds produced (touch). Exercises are provided for specific muscular co-ordinations and controls, but they are practised for the immediate application in a musical context in Studies which follow.
